Funny as We May Be

The things we do and the things we say

Going through our busy day

Some days we are upside down

Other days we are just plain turned around

Most days we may have it all together

But then there is a sudden change of weather

Rain they say cleanses the soul

But rain while you’re in traffic gets a little old

Character comes from bumps along our road

Though it ruins our tires and the thought gets old

So we turn on our television when we arrive home

And sit back and relax swearing never again to roam

To the kitchen we go to see what is there

Gathering up comfort food and letting down our hair

The news may be upsetting to us, for sure

So we turn on a comedy show so we can endure

A favorite book can be a good friend

As we read it cover to cover until the end

Life can be funny throughout our days

So let’s learn to take things in stride always
